Working with Grantees and Partners
The Helen Bader Foundation awarded our first grants in 1992. Since then, we have awarded more than 5,500 grants to over 2,000 nonprofit organizations, private-sector entities, and other partners that help make life better in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and beyond.
Through more than $200 million in grants, we have helped nurture new ideas and sustain vital programs. Helen Bader Foundation grants have enabled organizations to increase their capacity for helping people, while building broad coalitions to create a long-lasting impact on important issues. The Foundation wants our partners to reach the next level, whether that’s helping a grassroots arts group to serve more low-income youth in its Milwaukee neighborhood, all the way up to linking with the State of Wisconsin to engage citizens and health professionals in a plan to fight Alzheimer’s disease. No matter the size of the grant, that funding can be transformative
Our Program Related Investments help for-profit entities and nonprofit organizations that share a commitment to furthering our charitable interests in Milwaukee and Wisconsin. Since 2001, we have committed more than $15.5 million through various investment vehicles, including loan guarantees, linked deposits, and equity investments.
We’re proud of these numbers, but the ultimate result has been the immeasurable impact on countless lives.
